The transfer window for the summer of 2025 could be busy for Tottenham Hotspur and Ange Postkoglu, potentially attacking reinforcements on the Spurs agenda.
Timo Werner extended the loan spell from RB Leipzig for the 2024/25 season, but has not planned for the Germans in North London.
Used primarily as the left wing of Postecgolou, Werner failed to impress her return to England, and even came under criticism from the Spurs boss following the clash of the Europa League with the Rangers.
“When I have an 18-year-old (the team), that (the performance) is unacceptable to me.” Postcogro said.
“I told Timo that he’s German international. At the moment we’re in, it’s not that we have many options – I need everyone to at least get out there and try to make the most of themselves.

Brazilians are linked to exits.
Recently, journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Spurs hadn’t changed his mind about turning down a chance to sign Werner forever.
But who could enter as a Werner alternative? We’ve seen 10 wide forwards that the Spurs can target in the summer.
1
Jamie Gitens
Jamie Gitens
Borussia Dortmund
The latest British starring overseas is Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens. Gittens, the three-Lions U21 International, is a former Chelsea and Man City Academy ace, and has linked with the Spurs in the past.
Previous reports have even claimed that Daniel Levy wants to provide Gitens with 100 million euros – worth £83 million.

Brian Mbemo
Brian Mbemo
Brentford
Brian Mbemo has been a Brentford Premier League star in recent years, and following the departure of Ivan Tony, he has stepped up as the bee master.
But it appears he’s on the move, and Tottenham is one of the clubs that are heavily linked to Cameroon International’s movements.
However, Mbeumo plays mostly on the right side, so if Postecoglou becomes a Werner alternative, you may need to tinker with things.

Southampton
With Southampton being relegated to the championship, Tyler Diving could become a player in demand this summer after being impressed by the saint.
Only 19 years old and left-footed, Diling can play offensive midfielder, winger or centrally. The Spurs were thought to be in pole position to sign Diling in January, so there’s no shock to tackle a summer deal behind the scenes.

Antoine Semegno
Antoine Semegno
Bournemouth
Bournemouth is enjoying the 2024/25 season under Andeni Iraora, where Antoine Semenyo is one of the main stars of the South Coast.
Ghana International was impressed with playing on both the left and right wings, and was roughly linked to the £50 million travel to Tottenham until the end of 2024.
He could be another attacker to keep an eye on if the Spurs go down the proven Premier League star route.

Rayan Cherki
Rayan Cherki
Lyon
If the Spurs want to shop abroad to move forward widely to replace Werner, Lyon’s Rayan Cerki could be an option.
Although the 21-year-old has concerns about “personality,” it appears they were offered cherky for £20 million in January due to Lyon’s economic problems.
However, he cannot deny his talent. Cherki is a two-foot, versatile winger who appears to be at the top of the game with a career-high 35 million euro TransferMarkt rating.

Johann Bakayoko
Johann Bakayoko
PSV Eindhoven
If Tottenham is on the market to move forward widely this summer, it may aim to revisit PSV Eindhoven’s interest in Johann Bakayoko.
Linking to the 2023 move to Spurs, Fabrizio Romano called Bakayoko “an elite talent,” and Belgian International has been memorable in recent months.
He scored 14 goals for PSV during the 2023/24 season and registered the same number of assists. He scored 11 goals again in 2024/25 as of writing.

Barris Alper Irmaz
Barris Alper Irmaz
Galatasarai
The one that can be played anywhere in Front 3 is Galatasarai’s Balisha Alpailmaz, who was discussed in 2025 to move to the Premier League.
Spurs, the Turkish International, expressed interest in Irmaz when they were called the next Garethbert in 2024. The 24-year-old has enjoyed the best scoring season of his career in 2024/25, so he may be a wise choice to replace the Germans.

Jack Grellish

Man City
The screams on the left field for the Spurs may be to see someone like Jack Grelish of Manchester City.
England International has struggled at various points after the £100 million move from Aston Villa, rumors that his representatives were looking for a move away from Etihad.
With any transfers likely to come in just a small portion of the paid price city, the Spurs may feel they can make the most of their grail winds in North London.

Takefusa Kubo
Takefusa Kubo
Real Sociedad
Japan International Takefusakubo has been impressed with Real Sociedad since 2022 and can play as a wing or offensive midfielder. The 23-year-old was linking with the Spurs towards the end of 2024 with a potential £50 million transfer.
Kubo is already playing under Post-Coglow in a loan spell with Yokohama F. Marino, so the Australian could be eager to reunite.

Antonio Coldero

Malaga
Antonio Cordero appears to be a made star, and it appears his contract will expire in 2025 in the summer.
Tottenham is deeply connected with the Cordero movement and even discusses the transfer. However, Newcastle United was thought to lead the 18-year-old Spurs, so if the left is needed, Levy and Co may need to act fast.
