According to the Cop Empire, Liverpool is not keen to sell Cody Gakupo this summer and will claim at least 100 million euros for the Dutch.
Gakpo is a key player for the Reds and has helped him win the Premier League title for the season, so I imagine Arne Slot to be eager to keep him.
However, Eotk says it is Bayern Munich’s interest, which they see Gakpo as a signature that could come after sorting out the future of Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman.
After managing impressive contributions of 22 goals and seven assists in all club and country competitions in 2024/25, it’s easy for the Dutch international presence to be these two upgrades.
Liverpool certainly need to keep Cody Gakupo
It may be attractive to make a big profit from Gakpo by selling Gakpo for 100 million euros, but the LFC needs to do everything they can to keep the 26-year-old.
Slots worked well to keep many of Jurgen Klopp’s teams together when he took over last summer.
There may be some departures that we imagine Trent Alexander Arnold and Kaoimhin Keleher have already left this summer, and others like Darwin Nunes and Joe Gomez can see due to lack of playing time.
However, Gakupo is an important part of this Liverpool team, and selling to Bayern seems like a major mistake.
Will Liverpool win another title next season?
Liverpool got off to a strong start to the summer with Jeremy Frimon. Catch off side I understand that both Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez could be next.
The Merseyside giants also sealed off key new contracts for Mohamed Sarah and Virgil van Dyke, so keeping key players will be another big part of the summer.
Bayern may like Gakupo, but we need to make sure Liverpool closes this story quickly.
