Reuben Amorim declared that Manchester United “a good day is coming” following his final day victory over Aston Villa. This is a statement that looks fanciful considering the club’s 15th place Premier League finish and the Europa League Final Heartbreak.

The Portuguese coach gave a lecture during his first six months of upheaval in Manchester, can he actually take a walk?

What’s clear is that 40-year-olds need reinforcements to be successful at the club.

Many United have already poached Mateus Kuña of the Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo continues two moves that have raised hopes about a “good day” in the future.

However, if dramatic improvements occur after next season, these deals certainly have to be the tip of the iceberg. This is the time to break it and start again, following a miserable decade of recruitment.

With that in mind, if everything is planned for a new Crown Director Jason Wilcox transfer front, let’s take a look at what it looks like to see Amorim’s starting lineup as potential for next season.

1

GK -Vanja Milinkovic -Savic

Whether Andre Onana did better to keep Brennan Johnson’s biased efforts out at Bilbao could be debated until the night. What’s clear is that United reached the exhibit, not for him, despite being a Cameroonian stopper.

In fact, the 29-year-old, who was promoted for departure this summer, made five errors leading to goals in the Premier League and Europa League.

Enter, vanja milinkovic-savic. The 6-foot-6 Serb is deeply tied to his return to Old Trafford before he set off quickly after failing to obtain a work permit after competing in United’s books as a teenager. With just one year remaining in his trade in Turin, reports suggest that he could cost him just 20 million euros (£17 million).

The 28-year-old had just 42 goals in 37 Serie A games last season, ranking in the top 7% of European top five league goalkeepers, with a save percentage. Sign up for him.

2

RCB -Leny Yoro

After the start of an injury in the UK, Renee Yolo really became his own in the final months of the season, especially scoring the club’s first goal in Lyon.

Only 19 years old, he tends to move forward from the deep, and at that age, player Rio Ferdinand, who is known as the “world’s best” could start the next semester again as a backline mainstay.

3

CB-Harry Maguire

The captain stripped by Erik Ten Hag in 2023 was in talks of the move to West Ham United, and Harry Maguire’s redemption arc afterwards is a typical moment by the final Gasp winner to Lyon.

He’s been said to be “perfect” to the back three by 32-year-old Amorim – he will soon enter the final year of his contract – deserves to be a consistent number at the backline.

Of course, fitness allows.

4

LCB -Lisandro Martinez

Speaking of fitness, Lisandro Martinez remains on the sidelines with an ACL injury, but the World Cup winner is certainly a Shoe-in, starting with the left centre-back who began to come to himself in 2025 before his brutal setback.

The 27-year-old Fulham and the key goal scorer for Liverpool are ballplay warriors when fitting and firing.

Martinez must certainly start when he returns to the conflict again, but Aiden Heaven may be a long-term solution.

5

RWB -Amad

Is he a wingback or number 10? If the evolution of Amorim’s 3-4-3 setup occurs, attack-oriented presence like Amad is required at least in one of their broader verses.

The small Livewire ranked alongside Bruno Fernandez as the shining light of 2024/25, finishing with 21 goals and assists in all competitions.

Statistics through the Transfer Market

The 22-year-old, who was tied to a contract until 2030, could become the face of Manchester’s new era. In particular, his friend and teammate Alejandro Garnacho appears to be ready for the exit.

6

CM -Bruno Fernandes (C)

Manchester United’s heart and soul, talismanic skipper Bruno Fernandez concluded last season by wiping out the club’s season-ending awards and avoiding Saudi Arabia’s richness, staying for the next season. And of course.

There is curiosity about not only how this team looks without him, but his actual fit for the start of the Bers in this system, but the Portuguese star has to simply remain central to the side.

As Amorim admitted earlier this year, he is “one of the best players in the world.” You can’t find them that easily…

7

CM -Douglas Luiz

Athletics Laurie Whitwell notes United are looking for “Athletic Number 8” this summer. Douglas Lewis – linked to last month’s move – certainly fits the bill.

A proven player in Premier League quality, which was even welcomed as “better than (Declan) Rice” in several quarters, will need to rescue Juventus Hell, which only started six games last year, following a £42 million switchover.

It has not been revealed how much available Brazilians will be, as Wilcox and CO are seeking to comply with PSR restrictions, but perhaps a sharp loan offer is in place.

8

LWB -Pervis Estipinal

According to journalist Samuel Luckhurst, the Red Devils had already praised Lexe’s Patrick Dorg in January, but Dane was far from a completed article, and looked “out of his depth” in a 1-0 defeat to the Spurs.

At Brighton’s Pervis Estupinan, United were able to find the perfect upgrade in its wingback role, in a link with the 27-year-old player, who Fabian Hazeler praised as “one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.”

The need for top flight quality players is clear, with the £308 million rated Seagulls being another defender to fit the bill.

9

Rum – Brian Mbeumo

Speaking of Premier League quality, if Mbeumo makes the way to Manchester, it appears that Cameroon International would prefer a move towards Old Trafford despite the interests of Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs on the Champions League side.

After scoring a 20-league goal for Brentford, the 25-year-old will certainly strengthen the Amorim’s Flounder forward line.

The negotiations will continue at a potential fee for a multi-purpose winger, but if the transaction is agreed, it will be in yet another statement from the INEOS administration.

10

Rum – Masteus Cunya

Speaking of statements, it is already the aforementioned Cunha who is at the door, and the Brazilian, like the man mentioned above, does not seem to have been hit by United’s lack of European football the following season.

He won the previous campaign 12 with his own 15 league goals in 2024/25 – the 26-year-old is Maverick’s talent capable of reinvigorating Amorim’s offense, but certain Eric Cantona echoes have already emerged.

Of course, you need to do a lot of work to reach these heights, but I hope this deal proves to be another transformational one.
