Liverpool expect Neco Williams to push for exit after Euro 2020

A report from England on Monday suggests that Neco Williams could leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Neco Williams’ Liverpool stint

Neco Williams is a product of Liverpool’s youth system and has played for them at under-18, under-23 and senior level.

His stint in Liverpool’s first team, though, has proved somewhat underwhelming to date.

The full-back has spent his entire time in the Reds’ first-team playing second fiddle to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has proven himself to be one of the top right-backs in European football.

This has seen Williams reduced to a bit part role, featuring just 25 times for Liverpool, with most of those outings coming as sub or in fairly meaningless cup ties.

Williams to leave Liverpool?

Despite this, Williams has enjoyed a pretty promising international career to date, and would play 87 minutes vs Italy over the weekend.

Wales lost that game but did enough to secure 2nd spot in their group.

Whenever they are eventually knocked out of Euro 2020 though, it looks as though Williams could be set to move on from Anfield.

As per a report from The Athletic, Liverpool expect Williams to push for a move after Euro 2020.

In terms of a potential fee for the full-back, it is claimed the Merseysiders will demand at least £10m.

It is added that all of Leeds Southampton, Aston Villa and Burnley all expressed genuine interest in Williams over the past 12 months:
