Arsenal considering Dominic Calvert-Lewin as Everton try to tie down new manager

Arsenal consider Calvert-Lewin

There is a significant amount of links with Arsenal and other players so far this window. With interest in players in and outside of the Premier League rife, but as of yet no done deals to speak of.

However, one link that may excite Arsenal fans is in the striking position.

Mike McGrath of the Telegraph reports that Arsenal are interested in the Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Arsenal are looking to revamp their attacking line if they can get players out and they are admirers of Calvert-Lewin.

This is far from the first striker to be linked with a move to Arsenal. Duncan Castles spoke on his Transfer Window podcast about an interest in Frankfurt forward Andre Silva but said that the departure of Alexandre Lacazette would be necessary for a purchase.

Should Arsenal move on the 30-year-old, investing in a young homegrown forward will be effective but likely very costly.

Manager influence

Everton are currently without a manager and this could have a impact upon the likelihoods of Dominic Calvert-Lewin being sold by the club this summer.

As he is one of their most important players, it is unlikely that for whoever comes in, they will be open to him leaving. However some may be more vehemently against the idea than others.

Nearly a week ago Rafa Benitez was the man tipped to be close to taking over at Goodison Park.

However that has since gone very quiet and there are a number of names still in the frame despite the recent links.

The loss of Carlo Ancelotti will be a big blow to the club and especially to the likes of James Rodriguez who was convinced to join the Toffees due to his presence.

Whoever comes in will need to manage the squads carefully and ensure they have as strong as a team as possible going into another season attempting to secure European football.
