Arsenal are showing an interest in Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.
Mahrez’s Man City stint
Mahrez of course made the move to Manchester City in the summer of 2018.
The attacker departed Leicester City for the Manchester outfit for a fee believed to be around the £61m mark.
And, since making the switch to the Etihad, Mahrez has endured something of a mixed stint.
The Algerian is obviously a top talent, but required some time to get used to the demands placed on him by Pep Guardiola.
However, more recent months have seen Mahrez return to his best.
All told, across 2020/21, the 30-year-old has netted nine goals and provided six assists in 27 Premier League outings.
The winger also proved key to Man City reaching their first-ever Champions League final.
Mahrez scored one and assisted one over two legs vs Borussia Dortmund, before netting three of the Citizens’ four goals in their semi-final triumph over PSG.

Despite this, Mahrez’s future at the Etihad has been somewhat up in the air of late.
His current contract with the Sky Blues runs until 2023.
But it was reported at the end of May that City were open to the idea of selling Mahrez this summer:

And now, a report from Euro Sport on Tuesday has linked another Premier League club with the winger.
ES claim that Arsenal are enquiring about both Raheem Sterling and Mahrez as they look to improve their frontline.
However, it is also added that both players hope to stay at City and will have talks over their situations next month.
