France expected to make two changes from Hungary draw to face Portugal

The French media appear to have leaked their national side’s starting XI ahead of Wednesday’s game.

France vs Portugal

France are set to play their final group game of Euro 2020 on Wednesday evening.

Les Bleus will take on Portugal in their final Group F outing of the tournament.

France will head into the clash sat top of their group after securing four points from their opening two ties.

Didier Deschamps’ men would beat Germany 1-0 in their opening game before then somewhat surprisingly drawing 1-1 with Hungary last time out.

As a result, France need a win on Wednesday to ensure that they do indeed top Group F.

Portugal are likely to be a tough opponent, and with Germany facing Hungary in the remaining game, there is a real chance France lose to Portugal and Germany win –  meaning France would actually finish the group down in 3rd place.

France reported XI ahead of Portugal

Now, as mentioned above, the French media appear to have leaked the national side’s starting eleven ahead of Wednesday’s game.

And, for the most part, it looks as though Deschamps has opted to keep the same core of players that drew 1-1 with Hungary.

The only two changes look to be Jules Kounde coming in for Benjamin Pavard, and then Corentin Tolisso starting over Adrien Rabiot.

It is also claimed France will line up with an asymmetrical 4-2-3-1 like they did at the World Cup, with Tolisso occupying the Blaise Matuidi role.
