Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has, on Thursday evening, provided a long-awaited update on the wellbeing of defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Bees up next
Klopp and co. are of course set to turn their attentions back towards matters on the Premier League front this weekend.
This comes with the Reds having been in League Cup action last night, ultimately booking their spot in the competition’s 4th-round courtesy of a 3-0 downing of Norwich City.
Next up, though, will come a more stern test of Liverpool’s credentials.
A trip to the Brentford Community Stadium to take on Thomas Frank’s high-flying Bees lies in wait, with Saturday’s hosts having followed up an altogether impressive 2-0 downing of Wolves last weekend with a dominant cup victory of their own on Tuesday night.
The capital outfit showed absolutely no mercy, en route to an eventual 7-0 drubbing of Oldham Athletic.

TAA latest
As such, it goes without saying that Jurgen Klopp will be keen to have as many of his key performers fit and available, when Liverpool make the trip to West London on Saturday evening.
In turn, speaking on Thursday, the German was inevitably drawn on the latest on his squad’s wellbeing.
The most noteworthy update surrounded Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was forced to sit out his 2nd successive outing on Tuesday, after coming down with a bout of illness.
In a major boost for Liverpool’s prospects versus Brentford, though, Klopp went on to confirm that:
‘Trent was not injured, Trent was a little bit ill. He’s back in training, trained yesterday and will be fine.’

Roberto Firmino, meanwhile, could also mark his return to action in 48 hours’ time, with the Reds boss having revealed that the Brazilian is back ‘in contention’.
The news regarding midfield pair Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita proved of a less positive nature, however, with both looking set to miss out with respective injury concerns.
