Mount to miss clash with Man City
Table-topping Chelsea are set to clash with current holders Manchester City at Stamford Bridge in tomorrow’s lunch-time kick off but will be without Cobham product Mason Mount.
The England international picked up a minor injury in the Blues’ 5-4 penalty shootout win at home against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup two nights ago, and the key attacking midfielder is sure to be unavailable.
Tuchel says Pulisic is still out and that Mason Mount got a minor injury vs Villa. They will be out vs Man City with everyone else back, including Mendy. #CFC #MCFC

Mount is the only absentee for the German’s squad as they look to take away a valuable win in an early season fixture featuring two of the Premier League’s top sides who are both expected to be in the thick of the action for Premier League honors as Tuchel confirmed the upcoming encounter is a six-pointer with huge implications so early in the 2021-22 campaign.
England international to return for Juventus
When more details were provided on the status of the England man, Tuchel made mention of Mount’s disappointment surrounding his injury.
Tuchel gives more info on Mount’s injury: Mount described as disappointed, he played through the injury and took a penalty so it was a surprise. He will almost certainly be back to face Juventus. #CFC

He also fought through the minor knock while playing a role in Chelsea edging Dean Smith’s Villains at the Bridge in a typical performance from the academy product since he broke into the first-team set up full time under Frank Lampard.

LONDON, ENGLAND – JANUARY 16: Mason Mount of Chelsea celebrates after scoring their 1st goal during the Premier League match between Fulham and Chelsea at Craven Cottage on January 16, 2021 in London, United Kingdom. Sporting stadiums around England remain under strict restrictions due to the Coronavirus Pandemic as Government social distancing laws prohibit fans inside venues resulting in games being played behind closed doors. Thankfully for the Blues faithful, Mount will be fit and available when Chelsea jet-set off to Piedmont to square off with Serie A giants Juventus at the Allianz stadium on Wednesday night.
Tuchel’s men already started their Champions League group stage campaign on the front foot at home against Russian Premier League side Zenit St. Petersburg in a 1-0 win, and Mount’s inclusion in the squad will be a huge boost against a very tricky opponent.
