Arsenal vs Tottenham

The first North London Derby of the season will take place later today.

Arsenal will play host to Tottenham in a 4:30 pm UK time kick-off.

The Gunners head into the game sitting 13th in the Premier League table, having won two and lost three in the league so far this season.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have won three and lost their last two, meaning a win for Arsenal on Sunday will see them draw level on points with their rivals, despite falling to defeat in their opening three tests of the campaign.

Gilberto Silva on Thomas Partey expectations vs Tottenham

Ahead of Sunday’s game, Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva has been discussing Thomas Partey.

When Partey signed from Atletico Madrid, there were a lot of expectation on his shoulders, which he has since largely failed to live up to, in part due to his continuing injury and fitness issues.

Despite this, speaking this weekend, Gilberto outlined what he expects from Partey vs Tottenham, highlighting the Ghanaian’s ability to ‘make a difference on the field’:

“Everyone knows how important he can be for the team.

“Having this calibre of player is always good for the players because they trust him, especially in that position where many things are decided.

“I hope that he is going to be 100 per cent fit to play 90/95 minutes and help the team. This is what we expect from big players. In this kind of game, they increase their level of quality to push others.

“He is somebody who makes a difference on the field. This is what we expect from a player like Partey.”
