Ex-Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has taken to social media to send a message to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, ahead of today’s North London Derby.
Capital clash
The marquee fixture of the Premier League weekend is of course set to play out shortly, when Arsenal welcome city rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the Emirates, for the latest edition of the North London Derby.
The two sides will head into proceedings having seen their respective starts to the season swing in altogether contrasting directions over the course of the last couple of weeks.
Visitors Tottenham started out the 2021/22 campaign in hugely impressive fashion, rattling off nine points from an available nine to take their place at the summit of the English top-flight.
The last fortnight, though, has proven of a considerably more testing nature.
After first being put to the sword by 3 goals to nil at Crystal Palace, the Lilywhites were on the receiving end of a similar drubbing last Sunday, at home to capital rivals Chelsea.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have bounced back from a trio of successive Premier League defeats with a pair of hard-fought wins over Norwich City and Burnley respectively.
The latter too came last weekend, when a moment of magic courtesy of Martin Odegaard proved enough to see the Gunners emerge from Turf Moor with all three points.
‘Who remembers?’
As such, it goes without saying that Spurs will be eyeing a much-needed momentum swing this evening.
And, as outlined above, ahead of the action getting underway in the capital in a little over an hour’s time, one player to have spent much of his career lining out on the Lilywhite half of the North London divide has sent a message to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
Taking to Twitter, Toby Alderweireld, who departed Spurs just this past summer, posted a pair of photos, showcasing his headed goal versus Arsenal during the 2019/20 campaign.
And the pictures in question are accompanied by the caption: ‘Who remembers this moment? Good luck in the NLD today Spurs’
