Why Tottenham FC are being trolled following Anthony Joshua loss

Anthony Joshua loses

The sporting world had its eyes firmly fixed on the Boxing on Saturday evening.

Anthony Joshua would be defending his World Heavyweight titles against Oleksandr Usyk.

However, Joshua would go on to lose the clash, with all three judges awarding the fight to Usyk by scores of 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113.

Tottenham blamed for AJ loss

On the back of said loss, football club, Tottenham Hotspur, have become the butt of the joke online.

The reason for this is because the Joshua fight would take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs are, in recent history, well known for their lack of trophies and, when they do reach finals, like the League Cup in 2021 and Champions League in 2019, they generally ‘bottle it’.

And now, some fans, including those of a Tottenham persuasion, have taken to Twitter to suggest, in a light-hearted way of course, that AJ lost the fight because it was at Tottenham’s stadium and their lack of trophies and ability to ‘bottle it’ rubbed off on AJ:
