Manchester City are interested in RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku, according to reports stemming from Spain.
Christopher Nkunku dominates Man City
Christopher Nkunku would join RB Leipzig in July of 2019, departing PSG for a fee believed to be around £11.7m.
Nkunku has since featured on 92 occasions for the German outfit, in which he has scored 18 and provided 30 assists.
The 23-year-old has had a fine start to the season for Leipzig, scoring six and assisting three in eight outings across all competitions.
Three of those goals would come earlier this month in just one game. Leipzig would take on Manchester City in a Champions League group stage clash.
The German side eventually lost the game by six goals to three. But Nkunku would score all three of Leipzig’s goals, becoming the first player to ever score a Champions League hat-trick for the club.

Man City interested in Nkunku
Such a fine display appears to have caught the eye of the Manchester outfit.
Goal, citing Spanish outlet Fichajes, report on Monday that Nkunku is the subject of interest from City, with the Premier League champions said to be weighing up a January bid for the Frenchman, who still has four years remaining on his current contract with Leipzig.
No potential fee is mentioned in the report.
Perhaps more pressingly though, where would Nkunku actually fit into Man City’s side.
He is an attacking/central midfielder by trade and can also play on the left and right.
But midfield is quite clearly the area which Man City are most stacked in, with all of Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres competing for a starting berth.
Granted, Nkunku is a fair bit younger than some players on that list. But it does seem unlikely that City would want to add another attacking midfielder to their ranks – unless of course one or two do move on in the near future.
