Manchester United struggling to fire
Back-to-back defeats, and three losses in four games, has halted Manchester United’s early feel-good start to the campaign.
A late penalty miss from Bruno Fernandes ensured that Aston Villa took all three points from the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday, adding insult to the injury of having been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by West Ham in the third round stage just three days prior.

Any side with Cristiano Ronaldo in it is expected to compete at the very top across all competitions, and the longer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fails to bring silverware back to the red side of Manchester, the more people will see him as unfit for the job at hand.
The Red Devils will need a strong performance in the Champions League on Wednesday to bounce back, as they host Villareal, who defeated them on penalties in the Europa League final.
Juan Mata set to consider his future
One side effect of being knocked out of the Carabao cup is that it further limits the number of minutes available to players in the squad. One player unlikely to see too much Premier League action, but started against West Ham, is Juan Mata.
The 33-year-old is behind Jesse Lingard and Bruno Fernandes in the pecking order for regular minutes, and now with Carabao Cup runouts no longer an option, the Spaniard is thought to be considering his options.

It is safe to say that Mata has always operated with class in a red shirt, but never quite hit the heights that he did in Chelsea blue, where he hit 11 goals and 17 assists in the 2012/13 season.
Should he depart, it would seemingly indicate a new contract for Lingard, the other option in attacking midfield.
Is the time right for all parties?
