Tottenham get battered in North London derby
A first-half barrage saw Arsenal net three times in 40 minutes and claim victory in the north London derby at The Emirates yesterday.
Roared on by a jubilant home crowd, Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring, arriving late to turn in a Bukayo Saka cross. It was then Smith Rowe’s turn to provide for his teammates, finding Aubameyang who made it 2-0 after just 25 minutes.

It got worse yet for Tottenham fans, as Bukayo Saka got his name on the scoresheet before halftime, which saw some Spurs fans refuse to take their seats for the second half.
Although Spurs found a late consolation through Heung-Min Son, they were a well-beaten side on the day, and looked to be lacking direction, desire and ideas in what became their third successive defeat, during which time they have conceded 9 goals.
Moura hits out at Tottenham tactics
Speaking after the game, Lucas Moura took what can be interpreted as a swipe at new boss Nuno Espirito Santo, pointing out the awful tactics deployed by the lilwhites against the Gunners.
The Brazilian said:
“The feeling is very, very bad. We know what it means for the fans, for the club and of course we wanted to win, we wanted a different result,”
“It was a very bad game, it didn’t work at all.”
“I think they took advantage of our mistakes. We gave them too much space. And we didn’t play. We didn’t try to play. We didn’t try to have the ball.
“We have quality to have the ball, to build, to do more than what we did. So many long balls. We were not aggressive enough and they punished us.”
However, Moura was also quick to point out that the players had a part to play, saying:
“We need to run more. We need to be more aggressive, we need to work more, work harder,”
“But we cannot be crazy. It’s only the beginning of the season. We have a lot of games to play so we need to improve as soon as possible.”
