Willian opens up on Arsenal exit this summer
Former Brazilian international Willian has lifted the lid on why the Corinthians winger opted to leave Arsenal this summer after just one season in north London.

Now playing his trade back at the club where he started his professional journey in 2006 before his move to Shakhtar Donetsk, Willian opened up about his early exit from a three year contract in an interview with Arena SBT;
“My year at Arsenal was a bit complicated. I really couldn’t adapt to the club. I wasn’t happy there.
To make it very clear too, it wasn’t the club that wanted me to leave. I wanted to leave the club. I expressed my feeling, said I wasn’t happy. I said I wanted to look elsewhere, another place to play. And so there was this decision to leave.
There are things in life that money can’t buy, money doesn’t pay for. You have joy, happiness, peace, a solid family. I think this is the most important thing for me.”
European veteran enjoying start to life back in Brazil
After making his second successive start in a row for Corinthians after his return home, Willian spoke with Corinthians TV in the aftermath of their 2-1 win against rivals Palmeiras about the importance of the win and the feeling that comes with it;

“Very important. We worked all week aiming at this game. Very important result. It’s great to win against a rival, and we know the quality of the Palmeiras team, a qualified team. Our team played a great game and we got a very important victory. Now it’s a matter of following it up, continuing to evolve, so that it can go even higher in the table.”
