Manchester United take on Villareal
Manchester United are currently locked in action with Villareal, in a repeat of the Europa League final. The Red Devils lost the fixture last season, handing Unai Emery another Europa League trophy in the process, and will be looking for revenge.
However, they began awfully, and should really have been behind heading into the break. Only a vintage David De Gea performance prevented the yellow submarine from taking the lead in the opening 45 minutes .

However, the visitors took the lead early into the second half at Old Trafford, with Paco Alcacer turning in from an Arnaut Danjuma cross. Should they condemn United to a second defeat from 2 Champions League games, it looks a long way back to qualification.
Fans react to Dalot’s first half
One man who was handed added responsibility this evening was Diogo Dalot, who was brought into the side for the suspended Aaron Wan-Bissaka. However, he had a 45 minutes to forget, consistently finding himself coming off second best down the right flank.
Fans were quick to note this too:

Dalot getting beaten in every 1v1 how is that even possible 😭😭😭

Dalot is getting destroyed on that right side by Danjuma… what a save from De Gea though there 🧤

Telles and Dalot showing why they’re second choice tonight. Too easily beaten. De Gea and Sancho the only bright sparks of that half. #mufc

Danjuma beating Dalot all ends up down United’s right side. Going to be a painful night for Dalot if this carries on #MUFC @MirrorFootball

Why is Dalot still on the field?! Worst United performance I’ve seen in a long time.

With Wan Bissaka still out for another Champions League tie, can Dalot offer an improved performance against Atalanta?
