Thomas Tuchel sets Chelsea record with starting XI vs Juventus

Chelsea travel to Turin

Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel are looking to make it six points from six in the Champions League group stage as they travel to Turin to take on Juventus this evening.

Widely expected to be the toughest tie for the Blues ahead of the knockout rounds, they will be looking to bounce back strongly from the 1-0 home defeat that they suffered at the hands of Manchester City on Saturday lunchtime with a victory that would put them in control of the group.

The Blues, however, were hamstrung by injury somewhat, with Tuchel confirming that a quartet of players were set to miss the trip in his pre-match press conference.

However, the Blues will still be confident of coming away from Turin with a positive result given their opponents poor start to the season, which has seen them pick up just eight points from their opening eight Serie A games.

Not an Englishman in sight

To achieve this, Tuchel named a strong side which included 8 of the side that featured against Manchester City.

In doing so, however, Tuchel unwittingly set a Chelsea record under his leadership. With no Englishman in the starting XI (Ben Chilwell remains bafflingly on the bench), it became the first time in his Chelsea tenure that none had featured in his line-up.
