Disgusting scenes unfold in Prague as Black players are booed
Glasgow Rangers have one again been made to suffer on their travels to Prague on a European night, as Black players were the subject of constant booing on Thursday at the Generali Česká pojišťovna Arena, as Steven Gerrard’s men lost 1-0 to Sparta Prague in the Czech capital.
Sparta was meant to serve a stadium ban for the racist abuse thrown at AS Monaco star Aurélien Tchouaméni back in August, but the club was allowed to give admission to 10,000 kids 14-years-old or younger with UEFA’s blessing.
Sparta Prague fans racially abused Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni so faced a stadium closure tonight vs Rangers.
The only exception is that 10,000 local kids under 14 years are in but Glen Kamara, racially abused by Slavia’s Ondrej Kudela, is now being booed with every touch.

Parents and or guardians were apparently spotted on BT Sport’s coverage of the match, however, and the combined result saw Glen Kamara as well as Kemar Roofe, Fashion Sakala, and Joe Aribo all targeted with booing. The former received the worst of it, undoubtedly in connection with the April incident which saw the Finnish international racially abused on the pitch by Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kúdela.

In an immediate response to the events that unfolded during the 90-minute affair, Kamara’s lawyer Aamer Anwar issued a statement condemning the actions perpetrated by the crowd, while calling-out UEFA for their continued failure in appropriately punishing clubs and federations for not cracking down on racism;
“I had hoped when I heard of the stadium closure of Sparta Prague that both Glen and other black players wouldn’t have to put up with any abuse or racism and could just get on with playing football.
But this evening should be an embarrassment for the Czech side that, despite their fans being banned, it still made little difference that the stadium was filled with 10,000 schoolchildren.
A huge proportion of those children booed Glen’s every touch of the ball along with every other black player for Rangers. Tonight shows yet again that Prague has a serious problem with racism & as usual UEFA is nowhere to be seen.
Glen and the Rangers players have shown total class, but no player should have to face this at their work and on the European stage.
