Benitez confirms key trio out of Everton’s clash with Man United

Man United vs Everton

Everton have enjoyed a fine start to life under Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard has now taken charge of six Premier League games with the Toffees. Benitez has won four of these, drawing one and losing the remaining tie.

Said run of results has seen Everton climb up to 5th in the Premier League table, only one point off top spot and level on points with 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

However, their next clash does look set to be Everton’s toughest of the season to date.

The Merseysiders have not faced any of the top six so far this campaign, but are now set to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in the early kick-off on Saturday.

Rafa Benitez on Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin & more

Prior to the game, Rafa Benitez would hold his latest pre-match press conference on Friday.

One of the main talking points in the presser would be injury news, as Everton had some big names missing from their last outing vs Norwich; including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Seamus Coleman.

However, Everton fans should not expect any of that trio back on Saturday, with Benitez confirming in his press conference that all three players, as well as Andre Gomes, remain out.

Rafa would also speak briefly about Richarlison and his future, claiming he had lunch with the Brazilian on Thursday and everything was positive:

“Yesterday I had lunch with him and he was happy, we talked about the future and his situation. It was a very nice conversation and everything was positive.”
