Cavani tenure at Old Trafford tipped for January conclusion
Manchester United‘s iconic Uruguayan Edinson Cavani could be on his way out of Old Trafford sooner than many would have expected after the former Paris Saint-Germain, SSC Napoli, and Palermo stalwart has tipped for a January escape route.

According to the Manchester Evening News citing Catalan publication El Nacional, Spanish giants Real Madrid are tracking Cavani given his contract ending next summer after the center forward signed a one-year extension with United.
Certainly, United will not turn down the chance to receive some sort of financial compensation for Cavani departing the club apart from his wages coming off the books if he simply ran down his deal until the end of terms.
And with Real Madrid once again in the thick of the La Liga title race – and currently topping the table – but remaining far too reliant on the red hot form of Karim Benzema at the minute, a solid depth option at center forward would certainly suit the capital side nicely.
Disappointing time at Man United highlighted by summer business
Despite a highly effective Europa League campaign last term with Man United and helping Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men reach the final of the competition with 6-goals and 3-assists in just 5-appearances, Cavani hardly hit the heights at Old Trafford seen across the vast majority of his career.

The Uruguayan bagged 10-goals in twenty-six Premier League appearances last season, but was a fraction of the dominant force on display in Paris and Naples.
With summer business that saw both Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho come to the club and overflowing the United first-team in the forward positions with no fewer than (at the time) eleven players for the four forward positions, Cavani was already on borrowed time.
To date in the current campaign, Cavani has logged just three substitute appearances across both the Premier League and Champions League, totaling 62-minutes.
Though it is hard to see him get any considerable minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu under Carlo Ancelotti unless Benzema is hit with an injury, at least he may win a major piece of silverware in what is a career short on time.
