Video: Arsenal’s Gabriel returns to Amex pitch post-game after losing tooth (again) vs Brighton

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes was forced to return to the pitch following the conclusion of the club’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion this evening, after losing a tooth in a late collision.

Spoils shared

Mikel Arteta’s men made the trip to the south coast a short time ago, for their latest Premier League clash.

The Gunners headed into proceedings with spirits high in the club’s camp, after rattling off a quartet of successive victories across all competitions, including three-straight in the league.

And, when all was said and done on Saturday, though Arsenal saw their stretch of victories brought to an end, they ultimately extended their unbeaten run to five fixtures.

A hard-fought affair, during which the visitors were largely pinned back by an impressive Brighton outfit, eventually played out into a 0-0 stalemate.

Gabriel latest

Safe to say, throughout the 90 minutes this evening, Arsenal’s back-5 of Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes and Kieran Tierney had their work cut out for them.

Brighton, under the increasingly impressive Graham Potter, were frankly relentless at the Amex, pushing hard for what few could have argued wouldn’t have been a deserved winner.

Mikel Arteta’s charges, though, to their credit, continued to stand tall in the face of adversity.

And, as outlined above, the after-effects of a punishing evening have since very much taken their toll on one particular member of the Gunners’ backline.

The player in question? Gabriel.

Late in the action on the south coast, Brazilian stopper Gabriel, for the 2nd season in a row, saw his tooth knocked out during a meeting with Brighton.

In turn, as showcased below, the 23-year-old was left with little choice but to return to the pitch post-match, amid torrential rainfall, to seek out the missing member of his smile:
