Barcelona fans send crystal clear message to Joan Laporta following Atletico defeat

The Barcelona faithful have flooded to social media on Saturday evening, to send a message to club president Joan Laporta.

Suarez on target

The Blaugrana were back in La Liga action a short time ago.

Ronald Koeman’s men, eyeing a bounce-back display on the back of a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Benfica in midweek, made the trip to the Spanish capital to take on champions Atletico Madrid.

Despite their less-than-ideal opening to the campaign, Barca headed into the clash in the knowledge that a victory would guide them clear of their hosts this evening, and back into the Spanish top-flight’s top-4.

When the 90 minutes were said and done, though, the woes facing one of European football’s heavyweight clubs only deepened.

A 2-0 defeat was ultimately forthcoming, as strikes from Thomas Lemar and, almost as if written in the stars, Luis Suarez guided Atletico to a frankly comfortable result.

‘Koeman out’

Barcelona, in turn, have slipped to 9th in the La Liga table, looking well on their way to a Champions League group stage exit, too.

In turn, it should not come as a huge surprise to hear that the general reaction on the part of those of a Blaugrana persuasion on Saturday night has proven one of equal bewilderment and anger.

With their side continuing to endure one of their roughest season starts in recent history, the club’s supporters have made crystal clear that their patience with manager Ronald Koeman is up, amid widespread calls for club president Joan Laporta to take action with immediate effect:
