Crystal Palace vs Leicester
One of four Premier League clashes taking place on Sunday saw Crystal Palace and Leicester City face off at Selhurst Park.
Leicester headed into the game on a pretty dismal run of form. The Foxes had lost two and drawn one of their last three Premier League ties and have also had a nightmare start to their Europa League campaign, with their last outing a 1-0 loss vs Polish outfit Legia Warsaw.
And it did look as though Leicester’s poor run was set to continue in the early stages of Sunday’s game.
Crystal Palace were controlling the tie with Leicester hardly having a sniff in the Eagles’ half.
However, Leicester’s fortunes changed shortly after the half-hour mark when some poor Palace defending led to Kelechi Iheanacho slotting past Vicente Guaita.
Leicester were not done there, however, with Jamie Vardy making it 2-0 shortly after:

Jamie Vardy joins exclusive Premier League club
Said strike would be Jamie Vardy’s 6th in seven Premier League outings this season, with the veteran forward looking back to his scintillating best after a fairly mixed 2020/21.
And, after Vardy netted Leicester’s second of the day, a rather interesting stat has come to light concerning the Englishman.
As revealed below, only two players in Premier League history have scored 90+ goals in the competition after turning 30. The first was Arsenal legend Ian Wright (93), with Jamie Vardy now joining him in that club with 90 goals:
