Real Madrid’s supporters have taken to social media in their numbers on Sunday evening, to send a crystal clear message to manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Vidal amongst the goals
Los Blancos returned to action a short time ago.
After slipping to one of the most embarrassing defeats in the club’s storied history at home to Moldovan outfit Sheriff Tiraspol during the week, Ancelotti and co. made the trip to Barcelona, for a La Liga meeting with Espanyol.
Real headed into proceedings aware that nothing but a win would do, in their attempts to keep capital rivals Atletico at bay in the Spanish title race.
When all was said and done, however, the woes of the visitors only deepened. Another lacklustre display ultimately culminated in Los Merengues being put to the sword by two goals to one.
Karim Benzema’s latest strike 20 minutes from time, in the end, proved little more than a consolation, as goals from Espanyol pair Raul de Tomas and Aleix Vidal handed surprise package Real Sociedad the opportunity to head into the international break sitting pretty atop the La Liga table.

Hazard pleas
On the back of the action coming to a close on Sunday evening, in turn, it has since come as little surprise to see the Real Madrid faithful make their disappointment with their side well known.
A number of the club’s stars toiled over the course of the 90 minutes, with Vinicius Jr. having been singled out for particularly heavy criticism.
Yet, despite their overall sub-par showing, Los Blancos could nevertheless well have snatched a point.
The catalyst behind a near comeback late on? Eden Hazard.
Belgian wide-man Hazard has of course endured a nightmare stint in the Spanish capital to date, with his fitness troubles having long proven headline news across the continent.
After being introduced off the bench late in the action in Catalunya, though, the former Chelsea man quickly added the kind of guile and attacking flair which had been otherwise lacking from Real’s performance.
Hazard even saw what looked set to be a stunning late equaliser ruled out for offside:
A piece of genius as Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard combine, but the striker was just offside in the build-up 😬
