Gil impresses at Spurs
In something of a perceived coup for the Lilywhites, Spurs added Bryan Gil to their squad in the summer from Sevilla.
In the games since his arrival, the youngster has already begun to impress the Tottenham faithful, earning rave reviews and comparisons to Spurs legends of old.

Bryan Gil joins the squad
Tottenham are set to lose new signing Bryan Gil due to international duty in the coming weeks, with the 20-year-old having been announced as a late substitute for the Spanish squad.
This comes as Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente has withdrawn from Luis Enrique’s squad due to injury. Llorente played all 90 minutes of his side’s clash with Barcelona, which they emerged on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline, but has evidently picked up an injury since.

This will hand Gil a chance to add to his 6 senior national team caps, and will see him join up with fellow Spurs man Sergio Reguilon for his side’s fixtures in the Nations League finals, which pits them against fellow heavyweights Belgium, Italy and France.
The decision to add Gil to the squad, while brilliant on a personal level for the youngster, may come as something of a thorn in the side of Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Portuguese coach has come under scrutiny following three consecutive defeats, and will be hoping to turn things around in the immediate future.
Losing another player to international duty, taking them away from training in the process, could be more of a curse than a blessing.
