Chelsea target midfield reinforcements
One of the biggest areas of need in Chelsea’s squad this summer was central midfield, with N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic all being asked to compete for two positions across a potentially 60 game season.
As it turned out, the Blues left it late to provide cover, adding Saul Niguez on loan from Atletico Madrid on deadline day.

Although only in the infancy of his Chelsea career, the Spaniard has failed to live up to his hefty reputation thus far, seemingly falling below former outcasts Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley in Thomas Tuchel’s pecking order judging by recent substitutions.
His poor performances could see Chelsea dip back into the transfer market next summer as they look to find top class alternatives to their current midfield options. One of those tipped with having piqued Tuchel’s interest is Aurelien Tchouameni, who is also thought to be interesting Juventus.

Juventus hatch master plan
However, Chelsea may be forced into action sooner than anticipated. As per Italian media, Juventus are hatching a plan to bring the Monaco midfielder to Turin in January.
According to football.Italia, Max Alleeri’s side are looking to cash in on current midfield options Weston McKennie and Aaron Ramsey. McKennie was attracting interest from Tottenham and Aston Villa last summer, and could see a move to the Premier League materialise.

Should he depart, the club are allegedly ready to make a move for Tchouameni in January, who has already made over 60 appearances for Monaco at the tender age of just 21 years old.
