Nuno saves his job
After a shoddy performance at the Emirates stadium that saw Spurs fall to a 3-1 defeat, Nuno Espirito Santo was facing major question marks about his future.
Wins over Slovenian minnows NS Mura and Aston Villa in the seven days since have helped steady the ship, and it seems as though he will make it to the end of the season if possible, given the clause inserted into his contract.

With another international break now here, however, further problems lie ahead.
Spurs locked in talks once again
Once more, it appears that Tottenham are proving major losers from the red list rules.
A quartet of players have been called up to South American sides, with Giovanni Lo Celso and Cristian Romero set to represent Argentina, Davinson Sanchez called up by Colombia and Emerson Royal handed a Brazil call up.
Of course, the Argentine duo and Sanchez were all forced to fly home from the last international break via a training camp in Croatia in order to maintain their match fitness, that saw them miss the 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace.
This time around, however, the red list rules mean that they can train and play matches during a ten day “quarantine” at the training ground, but there is another problem.
Take Emerson, for instance. Brazil’s last fixture takes place at 1.30am UK time on Friday, which will make travelling back for Tottenham’s clash with Newcastle on Sunday difficult.
As a result, Tottenham are reportedly locked in talks once more with Brazil, and the two other federations, to release their players from international duty early so that they can return in time for Nuno Espirito Santo to name them in his starting XI against Newcastle.

For the Spurs faithful, this will represent yet another issue that their new boss has had to contend with, and they will be hoping that it can be sorted in a better way than the chaos that ensued after the last international break.
