Ben White enjoying Gabriel partnership at Arsenal
Arsenal summer signing Ben White is enjoying the early doors of his stint at the Emirates since his arrival from high-flying Brighton for £50million.
Despite the club having poor start to the 2021-22 Premier League campaign to the tune of three losses on the trot, recent form has drastically improved.

The north London outfit are currently on a four-match unbeaten run in the league, which includes three clean sheets with White in the match day XI.
In a recent interview on the clubs official Twitch channel in an episode of “Ben White; Ask Me Anything!“, the Poole-native was asked on how he viewed his partnership with Brazilian youth international Gabriel Magalhães and he responded in true positive fashion;
Frimpon: Speaking about partnerships…how do you find your partnership with Gabriel? Clean sheets all over the gaff…how have you been finding that?
White: Yeah; obviously he doesn’t speak much English…I don’t speak much Portuguese. You know, it’s been easier than I thought. There’s not too much that we have to say to each other. We kind of click…there’s not too much to say and we get what each other wants to do. It’s been an easy fit I think.
The numbers behind a budding partnership
To say that Ben White is just one of many Arsenal summer signings that have taken to life quickly at the Emirates would be a bit of an understatement.

In fact, all six of the Gunners additions during the summer window have started quite brightly in the early doors of their north London stay, but the way White has partnered with Gabriel has arrested any fears that the club would look too young at the back.
Along with White (23), fellow new boys Aaron Ramsdale (23), Takehiro Tomiyasu (22) are all in the same age bracket. Added to Gabriel (23), and Kieran Tierney (24), the youthful nature of the backline under Mikel Arteta is currently proving that age is just a number.

As for the White-Gabriel duopoly at the back, it is proving quite the find. Just one goal allowed during Arsenal’s four-match unbeaten run is already a credible return, while both players have won over 50% of their contested duels on the ground and in the air.
There is little else either player can do to further improve the clubs fortunes from a defensive standpoint, but early signs indicate that Arsenal may have finally found the next long-term partnership in the Emirates era that both Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny could be proud of.
