Viewers of the meeting between France and Belgium this evening have taken to social media in their droves, to respond to the performance of Hugo Lloris.
Lukaku amongst the goals
The 2nd of two high-profile midweek internationals is of course currently playing out in Turin.
After Spain got the better of European champions Italy to book their spot in the Nations League finale 24 hours ago, France and Belgium put their talents to the test on Thursday night.
And, though the former remain the world champions, and boast what many would argue is the deepest squad in world football, they are currently well on their way to another concerning defeat.
This comes with Roberto Martinez’s Belgium boasting a two-goal lead at the Allianz Stadium.
Yannick Carrasco was first on target, cutting inside from the left to slam a pinpoint effort home at the near post:

And it was two just minutes later, as a piece of individual brilliance on the part of Romelu Lukaku saw the Chelsea hitman roll Lucas Hernandez before directing a wonderful right-footed effort into the roof of the net:
🗣 “It’s a sensational piece of attacking play”

‘So overrated’
Whilst both Belgium goals, it must be noted, came courtesy of excellent finishes, such efforts on the part of the Red Devils’ stars did little in discouraging viewers from singling Hugo Lloris out for criticism.
France’s no.1, early in proceedings in Turin, was actually widely singled out as being underrated, on the back of a stunning 4th-minute save to deny Kevin De Bruyne:
I can’t be the only person that thinks Lloris is criminally underrated. That is a world-class save. #BELFRA #NationsLeague

Lloris saves all these shots he has no right saving & he’s still underrated.

However, with both Carrasco and Lukaku’s strikes having made their way beyond Lloris at the near post, the tide swiftly turned, with just a small selection of the ‘overrated’ shouts showcased below:
Hugo #Lloris is the most overrated goal keeper in the world

@SpursOfficial Belgium 1 up – Dreadful from our ‘keeper Lloris. He’s overrated big time, shouldn’t be our captain. #BELFRA #COYS #THFC
