A series of photos of Jack Wilshere playing his part in Arsenal training on Thursday have come to the fore across social media.
Gunners’ woes
The subject of the midfield ranks at the Emirates has of course taken centre stage in the chatter surrounding Arsenal of late.
This comes with Mikel Arteta’s squad, as things stand, concerningly short on dependable options.
After opting to add just Sambi Lokonga to their deep-lying cavalry over the summer, the Gunners have since been forced to contend with an abysmal stretch of luck on the personnel front.
Star midfielder Thomas Partey, for one, has seen out 75 minutes+ on just a pair of occasions this season, amid continued fitness struggles across his stint in North London.
First-choice partner Granit Xhaka, meanwhile, has already contracted Covid-19 and been forced to sit out a 3-game ban, with a lengthy spell on the sidelines now facing the Swiss international, owing to a serious knee injury.

And Arsenal’s engine room woes have not ended there, with Mohamed Elneny having too sat out several weeks with a hamstring problem.
Jack is back
In turn, upon Mikel Arteta admitting last month that the club’s doors were ‘always open’ to ex-Gunners midfield star Jack Wilshere, speculation inevitably began to spread surrounding a potential reunion between club and player – currently a free agent.
Today, however, the Arsenal boss was quick to shut down the possibility of the Hale End Academy product actually lining out for his side over the coming months.
Nevertheless, the club’s loyal fanbase will no doubt have their hearts warmed by the latest images stemming from Arsenal’s training ground on Thursday evening.
This comes with Wilshere having been permitted to link up with Arteta’s squad for first-team training, joining the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in showing off his talents at London Colney:
