As Arsenal duo mull over exits, Gunners linked with Yeremi Pino

An insight into some potential incomings and outgoings at Arsenal have been provided recently.

Arsenal duo considering futures

First up, it is being reported that two Arsenal players are considering their futures with the north London-based outfit ahead of the winter transfer window.

This information comes courtesy of the Sun, who report that:

ARSENAL are facing a New Year’s midfield dilemma with Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mohammed Elneny both considering their futures.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ recent Arsenal troubles have of course been widely documented.

Everton would be linked with a move for the midfielder towards the end of the summer transfer window.

However, it was then reported that Arsenal had told AMN that they now wanted him to stay put. This led to Maitland-Niles venting his frustrations at not being able to leave on social media:

It was then reported that Maitland-Niles was told he will not be training with Arsenal’s first-team:

The midfielder has since featured five times in the league for Arsenal, but has only notched 119 minutes across those five outings.

However, though Maitland-Niles seemingly wants out, the Sun report that the most likely scenario is that Maitland-Niles will be ordered to stay to fill in alongside Albert Sambi Lokonga in the absence of Granit Xhaka (injury) and Thomas Partey(AFCON). But the club could be willing to listen to offers for Elneny as long as Xhaka does not suffer any setbacks.

Arsenal linked with Pino

On the incomings front, meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked Yeremi Pino.

Pino is an 18-year-old right-winger who currently plies his trade with Villarreal, who he joined in July of 2019.

Despite his tender years, Pino has featured 46 times for Unai Emery’s side, scoring eight and assisting four.

And now, Spanish outlet Fichajes have reported that several Premier League teams, including Arsenal and Leicester, would be ‘very attentive’ to Pino’s evolution, with a view to a possible signing for the 2022/2023 season.

Pino is under contract with Villarreal until 2024. No potential transfer fee is mentioned in the report.
