Rashford goes under the knife
Following a busy season that saw Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford make 65 appearances for club and country, the Red Devil decided to have shoulder surgery for an injury that had been plaguing him throughout 2020/21.
The forward, whose last meaningful kick of a football came in the Euro 2020 final heartbreak, has missed the first stint of his sides’ season as he recovers from his surgery, a stint that has seen Manchester United drop points to Young Boys in the Champions League and be knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the third round at the hands of West Ham.
However, the Englishman’s return seems close, with Rashford starting, and scoring, in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Blackburn Rovers during the international break.

Rashford issues update on his progress
And for those desperate to see Rashford wowing crowds at the Theatre of Dreams once more, they will seemingly not have to wait much longer. The Englishman has issued a timely update on his return schedule, and it appears that he expects to be fit for after the international break.
Speaking to the Manchester United website, Rashford revealed:
“It’s good now, I’m pretty much at the end now,”
“I feel ready to be back on the pitch. So yeah, ‘m just looking forward to the next slot of games – it’s a busy schedule.
“It’s the time when the squad’s important, we all have to be together and utilise everybody’s strengths. It’s just about picking up points. When there’s this many games in a short space of time, you just wanna keep picking up three points and move on to the next game.”
With tough games ahead against the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as tricky Champions League ties, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need his homegrown star to come back firing on all cylinders.
