Tottenham are reportedly ‘gathering information’ on Bologna star Mattias Svanberg with the situation beginning to worry the Serie A outfit.

The dynamic midfielder is catching the eye in Italy amid some impressive displays this season. Becoming a regular fixture in their side, Svanberg has three goals and two assists from 17 Serie A starts this season. Indeed, he’s a huge part of Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side as they look towards a top-half finish this season.

However, with just 18 months left on his deal, Bologna know they must act fast to tie Svanberg down.

Indeed, it seems the vultures are quickly beginning to circle for the 22-year-old. As such, reports have strongly linked him with a move to Tottenham, while last week it was suggested that Arsenal are seemingly keen.

The likes of AC Milan and Inter Milan have also been linked with January moves.

To that end, Bologna seemingly have a price on his head should his suitors come calling.

Now, as per Calciomercato, it is Tottenham who are leading the charge. They claim director Fabio Paratici is beginning to gather information around the player and to find out what it would cost to lure him to Spurs.

Conte a big fan of Mattias Svanberg

They claim Antonio Conte’s side are becoming huge admirers of the player and will keep a close eye on his situation.

Bologna, though, still hope to persuade him to stay.

As per the article, Svanberg’s representative will fly into Italy for urgent talks on the player next week. And they hint that agent Martin Dahlin is willing to hear what proposal Bologna put on the table before advising his client.

Indeed, one option that may well prevail is that Svanberg commits himself to a new deal to 2025. However, within that will be an agreement to allow the midfielder to depart for a fixed fee in summer 2023.

Should that happen, Svanberg’s immediate exit will be averted. However, until then, Spurs remain very much in the race to land the Swedish talent.

Kessie advised to snub Tottenham

Svanberg isn’t the only midfielder Spurs are seemingly chasing from Italy, with Franck Kessie also in their sights.

The midfield general, 25, is quickly becoming one of football’s most coveted free agents. Kessie is out of contract next summer and predictably, has no shortage of suitors and clubs scampering to sign the AC Milan man.

And with Spurs willing to pay a big price to land him, a report claims Kessie is on the verge of agreeing to the move.

Milan great Massimo Ambrosini has urged Kessie to think twice before jumping ship.

“I have every respect for the professional decisions of fellow players,” Ambrosini said, via the Manchester Evening News. “All I can say is these clubs who can offer a higher salary aren’t of a higher level than Milan.

“The chance to bring home €8m rather than €6m should not be the priority if you are happy, otherwise, where you already are. He shouldn’t think of Milan as being a club of a secondary level.”

Whether Kessie listens to the advice remains to be seen, with many still expecting the player to depart.
