Official: Liverpool’s meeting with Arsenal on Thursday given new date

Liverpool are currently experiencing their second Covid-19 outbreak at the club.

As a result, the Reds would then confirm on Tuesday evening that they had requested their meeting with Arsenal on Thursday evening be postponed.

On the back of this, two further updates from Liverpool emerged.

Firstly, it was revealed that Liverpool assistant Pepijn Lijnders has too tested positive for the virus:

Then, around an hour and a half later, Liverpool confirmed they had shut their AXA training centre:

Now, as was to be expected following the closure of Liverpool’s training centre, it has been confirmed that their clash with Arsenal this week has now been moved.

As a result, the second leg, which was due to be played on the 13th of January, has now become the 1st leg and the second will now be played at the Emirates on January 20th:

Arsenal have a Premier League meeting with Burnley on the 22nd of January, so it will be interesting to see if the Gunners have that tie moved as it would give them basically no time to recover from the semi-final.
