Barcelona finally find suitor for Ousmane Dembele amid hope of deadline day deal

Word quickly spreading across the European media on Sunday evening suggests that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have opened negotiations over the possibility of a deal for Ousmane Dembele.

The name of Blaugrana wide-man Dembele has of course found itself front and centre in the headlines once more over the course of the last couple of weeks.

This comes after Barca chief Mateu Alemany dropped a bombshell, all-but confirming that the former Borussia Dortmund man has played his final game for the club, after refusing to renew his contract, set to expire this summer:

And Dembele, in turn, quickly hit back, courtesy of an emotional statement of his own.

Any remaining hope of a resolution between the two parties, as a result, was essentially ended, with the transfer chiefs at the Camp Nou having been hard at work for the last ten days in a bid to shift the Frenchman off their books.

And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media late on Sunday is anything to go by, then such a move may not be out of the question ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

As per journalist Santi Aouna of French outlet Foot Mercato, Ligue 1 table-toppers PSG have entered the fray for Dembele at the last minute.

Not only that, but Aouna goes as far as to suggest that an agreement has swiftly been found between Mauricio Pochettino’s men and the attacker himself, over the terms of a contract.

PSG, in turn, will now shift their attentions towards negotiations with Barcelona, in a bid to secure Dembele’s talents for the 2nd half of the season.

If such an agreement cannot be found, though, the capital giants are understood to be content with landing the 24-year-old on a free transfer in the summer.

Auba incoming?

Word of Dembele’s potential move to Paris would certainly line up with further reports over the course of the day to date, pointing towards potential reinforcements to Xavi Hernandez’s frontline in Catalunya.

Barca are understood to be closing on an agreement with Arsenal, over the signing of out-of-favour hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese is expected to make the move to the Camp Nou on loan for the remainder of the season, without the option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
