Paul Pogba ‘open’ to Premier League move after Manchester United contract ends

28 year old midfielder Paul Pogba is out of contract with Manchester United come the summer, and is yet to show any signs of renewing his deal at Old Trafford past this summer.

But could he stay in the Premier League? Quite possibly, according to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, who claims that the Frenchman is ‘open’ to a move which would see him stay in England.

‘Paul Pogba is ready to wait until the end of the season to decide his future and is willing to listen to all options, which could include proposals from Premier League clubs’, he reveals.

There are few that could afford the Frenchman, with Manchester City and Chelsea among the small pool of clubs that could likely cover his hefty wages and sign-on fee. Would Pogba be willing to risk any Manchester United legacy that he may have by switching to the blue half like Carlos Tevez did, and would Guardiola even be keen to add him to his squad.

How is Pogba doing this season?

Pogba has been injured for much of the season, picking up a knock on international duty that turned out to be quite severe and ultimately ruled him out for three months. He began the season brilliantly, however, and while he is yet to get up to that point again since his return and incorporation into Rangnick’s system, United are still a better team with him in the side.

Should they lose him in the summer, they will have to spend big to replace what he brings to the side, in spite of his perceived flaws. Can they afford to?
