Cadillac finished qualifying for the 2025 24-hour Le Mans on Wednesday evening.

In the 24 Hours of Le Mans opening qualifiers for 2025, the top 15 of the 21 strong fields advanced to the hyperpole session on Thursday, with the introduction of a new elimination format.

Cadillac, who broke through FP1 with the No. 38 Jota team on Wednesday, was once again at the top of the timesheet with the No. 12 Jota car driven by Alex Lynn.

The British driver produced a 3M22.847 for last year’s best efforts, leading the Dries Vanthoor’s No. 15 WRT BMW in just 0.040 seconds.

The shock of the session was the number 7 Toyota exit driven by the Nyck de Vries, but failed to enter the top 15 hyperpole cutoff on the 17th.

The 7th Toyota, billed as a pre-race favorite, faces a difficult battle as the race begins on Saturday afternoon.

The 2024 pole time improved quickly after the opening lap.

This was improved by the No. 51 Factory Ferraricar driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi with 3m23.933 before the 311 Whelen Cadillac went faster at 3M23.890 in 8 minutes at 3M23.890.

A while later, last year’s Paul Sevin Esther took the 6th Penske Porsche to the top spot in 3m23.360 seconds.

Vanthoor failed to register a legal lap for the last majority of the 30-minute session, but failed to contain the charges of Lynn’s No. 12 Jota Cadillac at 3m22.847s.

Ferrari, No. 51, completed the top three, while Porsche, No. 6, returned to fourth, ahead of No. 38, Jota Cadillac.

Ferrari No. 50 ranks sixth over No. 5 Penské Porsche, No. 20 WRT BMW, No. 311 Cadillac, and Mick Schumacher’s No. 36 Alpine, who is facing investigations into not following the yellow flag.

This is related to the spin of his alpine teammate Paul Loopchachin in front of 35 cars.

No. 8 Toyota has reached the Hyperpole. No. 83 AF Corse, No. 101WTR Cadillac, No. 4Porsche Penske Entry, No. 35 Alpine won the final spot.

Aston Martin denied Hyperpole location in 009 due to delays in improvements to the 4th Porsche driven by Felipe Nasr.

It appeared that the de vries had encountered traffic on his final flight lap, but it made him 17th.

The Red Flag came out twice in the first segment of qualifying for the LMP2 and LMGT3 cars.

Dunlop Chicane’s No. 60 Iron Lynx Mercedes issue stopped the session while being retrieved in about 15 minutes.

The session is no. 150 Richard Miller Af Corse Ferrari issues made me red for the second time with just under four minutes left.

Due to the time left on the clock, the session was not resumed, with a No. 46 WRT BMW entry for the topping LMGT3 of Valentino Rossi, Ahmad Al Harthy and Kelvin van der Linde.

With Al Hershey behind the wheel he led the BMW to 3M56.875, leading the centre of Aston Martin and No. 92 Mante Porsche in the race driven by Ian James.

Half of the LMGT3 field will not progress until Thursday’s hyperpole session under the new rules. The championship-leading TF Sports Corvette Entry (promoted by Benkeating) is the biggest dropout from that list.

A close LMP2 session for last year’s class Polesitter AO was held by TF Sport, with Louis Deretras taking 3M35.472 ahead of United Autosport’s Ben Hanley.
