At Sunday’s Estoril World SBK, Toprak Razgatlioglu could be crowned champion in Race 2, which starts at 14:00 local time.
Razgatlioglu started from pole position and has won both races so far this weekend. To win the title, he needs to beat Nicolo Brega by 18 points this afternoon.
Alvaro Bautista dominated the front row, finishing third in both races this weekend. The Spaniard is currently eight points clear of absentee Danilo Petrucci and three points clear of Andrea Locatelli, who had previously finished fourth in both races, in the race for third place.
Jonathan Rea was also in contention for a podium yesterday, but suffered brake failure late in the race and ultimately finished 6th. This morning he crashed out in fifth place behind Locatelli in the Super Pole race.
Like Danilo Petrucci, Sam Lowes, who was ruled unfit yesterday due to a chest contusion he sustained before the weekend in Estoril, will also not be on the grid today. In the battle for 6th place in the standings after Race 1, the difference between him and Alex Laws was just 4 points.
