Since 2026, all 11 teams competing in Formula 1 have signed the commercial aspects of the new Concorde contract, which will take effect next year.
The bilateral agreement between the team and the F1 commercial rights holder provides an overview of the commercial terms and conditions the team operates within a specific period of time. Racers will cover the next five years starting in 2026. After confirming Stefano Domenicali’s own contract as F1 CEO, the team is committed to the ongoing partnership.
“Formula 1 can confirm that all teams have signed the 2026 Concorde Commercial Agreement to ensure the long-term economic strength of the sport,” the Formula 1 statement read. “Formula 1 is in a stronger position and all stakeholders are grateful to all teams during this process to reach the best results of the sport.
“The 2026 Concorde Governance Agreement will be completed in time.”
The commercial agreement includes Cadillac as a confirmed participant from 2026 and beyond, with approval from both F1 and FIA earlier this month.
Governance – the next part of the Concorde Agreement – was completed in 2021 under Jean Todd, and is the first one that needs to be agreed under current FIA President Mohamed Ben Slayem. This is the final year of Ben Slayem’s first term, and it has set up a leadership contest that will take place later this year if other candidates take part in the running.
Announcement of the commercial agreement removes negotiation tactics from the hands of Ben Suraem. With the team and Formula 1 in line with the commercial aspect, the FIA needs to find ways to advance towards the United Front from two other key stakeholders involved in the Concorde agreement.
