There’s only one month left in the season. So, transfer rumors have started to swirl around Premier League clubs, but for Tottenham Hotspur these rumors have something to do with the manager’s position.
Ange Postecoglou may be two games away from the Europa League final, but as things stand, he has a real chance to oversee the 18 league defeats and lead the North Londoners to a 17th place finish.
So it’s no surprise that last week or so I saw many top coaches in the UK and abroad tied to taking over his job in the summer.
One of the most prominent candidates at the moment appears to be Andniiraola of Bournemouth, but based on recent reports, the club may have identified even better options.
Tottenham manager search
Before arriving at the manager in question, it’s worth looking at some of the other potential candidates, such as Marco Silva, who have linked their work over the past week or so.
Manager Focus
Who is the best coach on the land? Football FanCust’s Manager Focus series aims to reveal everything.
Fulham boss has done incredible jobs in West London since his appointment in 2021, leading the cottage to promotion and transforming him into a solid mid-table side that beat Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United this season.
Another impressive coach related to his recent work is Thomas Frank from Brentford.
According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Lilywhites technical director Johan Lange is a huge 51-year-old fan, and like Silva, it’s not hard to see him leading him to a solid team that could lead him to the top flight and give anyone a game, despite losing star striker Ivantny in the summer.
However, another name also appeared as a potential alternative to Postecoglou, a manager who could become a better option than Roberto de Zerbi, a better option than Iraora.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, the former Brighton & Hove Albion boss is “a name that some Tottenham would appreciate.”
Known for being a passionate character, it may be the perfect thing to shoot Spurs again in the summer and hire better than the Bournemouth men.
Zerbi’s method is compared to Iraola
So, if Spurs see Deserbi and Iraora as potential alternatives to Post-Coglu, how do they compare to each other?
From a basic stylistic point, both managers prefer to use a 4-2-3-1 formation where possible. This may be ideal for North Londoners.
Additionally, while Italians prefer to play the Highline, he prefers to play the two holding midfielders, according to football analysts.
That said, what does the manager’s recent records look like when compared?
Well, during his time at Brighton, the “genius” tactician dubbed analyst Statman Dave won 38 games, drew 20 people and lost 31.

But what should be considered is that in addition to securing Seagulls European football in the 22/23 season, the Brescia-born boss currently manages Olympic de Marseille, one of France’s biggest clubs.
Unlike the former Reyo Vallecano guy, he knows what it’s like to be responsible for the massive institution and all the intense pressure and scrutiny that comes with it, as he averages 1.81 points per game on the French Riviera.
Ultimately, De Zerbi and Iraola will almost certainly improve their football and results with Spurs next season, but the former have had the experience of leading the “Big Club.”
