Leeds United dropped more points in the race for promotion after a 2-2 draw with Swansea City.
The whites are currently two points behind championship leader Sheffield United, leveling off in points with third place Burnley. They are in serious danger of falling into the playoffs soon.
It was a perfect start for Daniel Fark’s side. He scored in the first minute. Midfielder Brendan Aaronson, who has struggled with consistent form this semester, ended an eight-game goal drought with a strike in a six-yard box and latched it to the edge of the loose ball.
Just 10 minutes later, goalkeeper Iran Meslier stripped off a great penalty save to deny Josh Timon from 12 yards, and Swan finally pulled out the level until the 64th minute. Harry Darling hit a mistake from the Leeds goalkeeper from the corner.
Young attacker Wilfried Gunnont thought he’d beat Leeds a minute after stepping into the pitch in the 85th minute. It was a fierce strike, running from the corner to clearance and firing the house behind the net.
However, Swansea got a slow equalizer via Zan Vipotnik.
Meslier’s Stats vs. Swansea
It was a mixed bag of games from Leeds’ number one. On the one hand, he saved the penalty, guessed correctly, dived low to the left to lock Timon out. However, he made a big mistake on the Swans’ first goal and was supposed to be better with his second goal.
His mistake on the goal from Darling was really poor. Meslier rose to the highest to get a corner, but dropped the ball and spilled it onto the defender’s path.
In the case of the equalizer, the strike went under the extended right hand of Mesurier’s right hand.
One person who was critical of Messlier’s performance was Leeds Live journalist Isaac Johnson. He gave the Frenchman 4/10 for his show, explaining that he made “yet another blunder” for Swansea’s goal.
Just as Messlier played against Welsh outfits, he was never the only Leeds player to struggle. In fact, those on the other side of the pitch also performed disappointingly.
A hard-working Leeds player vs Swansea
Playing against previous clubs can bring you the best or worst of players. Well, he certainly struggled for former Swans star Joel Pillow, who played 96 games and scored 46 goals on Saturday’s visitor.

Football Fancast’s Chalkboard series presents tactical discussions centered around global games.
The 25-year-old Dutch never actually participated in a match with his previous club and made one effort in the second half, but he had little involvement in the game. He received 5/10 from Johnson.
Certainly, that is reflected in his statistics via his sofa score. The former PSV Eindhoven striker had just 37 touches in the game and completed 70% of his passes. From the ball, he won only two out of the 10 attempted duels. It was a really tough day at Pillow’s office.

Perhaps this performance will raise concerns about his suitability for the Premier League. Top Flight is definitely a step up and he manages 15 goals this semester, but the lack of involvement in the entire game today may be a problem for Fark.
To ensure that Mesurier’s future is questioned after this game, a little more disappointing performance from Piroe, who probably played five games without a goal, raises a similar question.
Two important individuals at both ends of the pitch are insufficient, and two important individuals are truly the source of concern, and Leeds is once again at risk of missing out on automatic promotions.
