Newcastle has been able to see low-cost deals this summer as it needs to be smarter with money due to potential PSR concerns. And what looks appealing to sports director Paul Mitchell has gained traction in recent weeks.
Regardless of the possibility of Alexander Isaac’s summer departure, which continues to link with Liverpool and Arsenal, it has been reported in recent months that a new striker is on Newcastle’s agenda. It appears Callum Wilson is due to leave at the expiration of his contract. This will leave a gap for Eddie Howe’s team.
Liam Dellup is one of the options Newcastle is considering, but he is currently looking at players who are much lower than the Ipswich striker.
Newcastle will be lined up Christian Cofane’s summer moves
As reported by the Chronicle (via Nufcblog), Newcastle is interested in Albacete striker Christian Cofan, and sports director Mitchell is said to be a very big fan of the 18-year-old Cameroonian starlet.
Kofane was a breakout star in the second tier of Spanish football in 2025, scoring six goals in just 16 appearances for La Liga Hypermotion. But Newcastle’s concern is that there are other clubs of interest, such as Lille, Monaco, Real Betis, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
However, it may not be that difficult for Newcastle as they have already beaten Real Madrid and Barcelona to the signature of the Spanish-based attacker, antonio Cordero. Malaga is scheduled to move to St James Park when his contract expires at the end of the season, and the agreement actually ends.
It remains to be seen whether Newcastle will be able to land Cofan this summer, but if that’s the case, he will be another exciting young man to add to the pool already signed in recent years.
