Manchester United reportedly are the main clubs that are interested in the potential summer transfer window dipping for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
Uruguay International has been a key player in Barca in recent years, but it appears that in the near future he will be available at a reasonable price.
According to a report by Fichajes, its price is clearly around 60 million euros.
Another report from Fichejes also questioned Araujo’s future, with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dyke being named a potential alternative as he is approaching availability as a free agent this summer.
When Virgil Van Dik moves to Barcelona, Ronald Araujo will be from Manchester United
It will be interesting to see what Barcelona is doing in defense this summer, but it may make economic sense for them to replace Araujo with Van Dyk.
The Catalan giants have been well documented financial difficulties in recent years, so it may be wise to cash in Araujo if opportunities arise.
Van Dick is probably available for free and certainly appealing as he is trying to raise €60 million after selling Araujo to Man United.
Still, there are plenty in Barcelona who disagree as Araujo is an important player for the team and has long been praised as a future star.
A few years ago, Barca legend Carls Puyol described Araujo as “via Mundo Deportivo), saying that the defense of the future team felt he was safe.
United will certainly do well at snapping talent like Araujo. Red Devils boss Reuben Amorim is likely keen to make some changes to this struggling team, inherited from Eric Ten Hag.
The 60 million euro Araujo could be a very good business, especially as the club needs to quickly think about replacing Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, but Lisandro Martinez had many injuries during his time at Old Trafford.
