Shy Gilgaus Alexander’s father spoke in defense of his son.
Vaughn Alexander once played basketball and coached his son, Shai Gilgauss Alexander, but was later promoted to make him one of the best security guards in the game.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is one of my favourites to win the MVP Award this season. This is the first time for a guard since James Harden, who won in 2018.
He helped the OKC Thunder team finish as the top seed in the West last season, and has been doing the same in 2024-25.
Despite his campaign, many people criticized Shy Gilgauss Alexander for foul baits.
However, his father supported and silenced critics.

Alexander stated in the “Not Cold with Gill” podcast of his ability to portray fouls:
“When I beat you, when you can’t recover and stay in front of me, it’s a foul, m ****** r.”
Alexander also said that his son’s game differs from other games, with many fouls hanging on his skill set.
“At the end of the day, he’s changing his pace and he’s not trying to touch the moon with speed, blown away by you.
“Of course you need to have some athleticism in it, but that’s what his first step is against, he’s not going to run a 50-yard dash at the fastest.
In addition to the MVP awards, the race defensive players are also excited.
Draymond Green and Evan Mobley lead the conversation, but former Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett has the SGA name on the list of players who need to win the award.
Speaking about the “KG Certified” podcast, he said:
“I think Shy’s offense hides his defense.

Whether he wins both trophies and achieves glory is a question that only time can answer, but even if not, the SGA season could potentially go down as one of the best individuals for the league’s guards.
