The Los Angeles are 4-0 to start the regular season, but it wasn’t that they didn’t have a brief scare earlier this month.
In two matches before the team flew to Japan to kick off the MLB season, superstar Mookie Betts was hurt from a Cactus League matchup with illness. He missed the final two games of Spring, the first two exhibition games in Tokyo, and was at the plane home before the first pitch was thrown on the opening day.

The illness continued to grow into something the bed could not shake. This stomach bug, which was later speculated to be norovirus, caused the 32-year-old to struggle to contain food that was reportedly losing nearly 20 pounds, not a smoothie.
Betts’ illness and wet Tokyo Series excitement has set the superstar back to the beginning of three spring games with the Los Angeles Angels before the home opener. Still, Betts was a late scratch after having to vomit a few hours before the contest.
With the regular season officially underway, Betts appears to have been healed.
The home opener saw Betts in attendance, but he took over in the next game.
LA was able to quickly tie things together with five runs as the went down 3-5 and went into the bottom of 10 innings. Betts then stepped up to the plate with two ons and unleashed a three-run walk-off bomb to win.
It was his second home run of the day.
After all that Betts had recently experienced, he spoke about the core memory he delivered to fans in attendance after the game.
“It was very special. I know it sounds very selfish, but for me it’s more. “Playing underwear isn’t a big deal, it’s just the fight I went through. It’s the ups and downs, the night I’m getting sick and crying. My wife was holding me.
The will try to play the Detroit Tigers again on Saturday night, and try to improve that year to 5-0.
