According to Florian Plettenberg Sky GermanyManchester City held its first consultation this summer on the potential relocation of Hugolasson from Entracht Frankfurt.

Often described as a “complete midfielder” at age 20, Larson prefers to play in a central box-to-box role, but he can operate as No. 6 and offers additional protection for the line of defence. He joined Eintracht from Marmo FF in 2023, reportedly for 9 million euros, and this season he has made a total of 38 appearances in all club competitions so far, scoring six goals and providing one assist.

As Larson’s contract runs until 2029, Eintrohat sports director Marcus Cloch is demanding a fee of €60 million for his services.

Meanwhile, City’s title defense campaign in the Premier League is in tatters, with Pep Guardiola’s side losing a lot of momentum when Rodri tores the ACL early in the season. Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva are not close to the levels of the past few years, and the same can be said for Ilkay Gandogan, where his return from Barcelona last summer is far less than the city hoped. Nico Gonzalez may still prove that his arrival in January this year was not a waste of money, but he hasn’t done much yet. And Mateo Kovacic’s influence melted with effort to insert too many gaps.

Larson’s proposed arrival would clearly provide Guardiola with a midfield option for years to come.
