Former Liv golf player Eugenio Chacarra overcomes a late start to win the Indian Open with his first European Tour title on Sunday.

Chakara shot a 1-under 71 in the final round and finished at 4-under, scoring the victory in the ninth tournament on the European Tour. The Spaniard was shot two by Nakajima keita, who shot an even par 72 in the final round.

Playing on tournament invitations, Chakara won the fifth LIV start but was separated from the Fireball roster by Sergio Garcia of Fire Spain in the 2025 season.

“I’m very grateful for that opportunity,” he said. “Thank you guys, as you probably changed my life from today.”

The 25-year-old Chakara entered the final round with a one-shot lead at DLF Golf and Country Club, but he returned to a double bogey on the first hole and a third bogey back to a week’s level par. He bouncing off with five birdies on nine holes and despite a bogey on the 17th, he kept it.

“It was a tough day. We knew it would be a long day with a lot of pressure and obviously we didn’t have the start I really wanted,” he said. “When I did my best, I know I’m one of the best players in the world. I’ve already proven that a million times.”
