The Atlanta Braves could not script the worse start of their 2025 campaign. They aren’t too relieved to face the Los Angeles this week.
The Braves opened their season by being dominated by a four-game series against the San Diego Padres. Later ahead of Monday’s first game with the , Major League Baseball announced that its major offseason takeover at Jurik Sonfaer tested positive for banned substances and was soon suspended in 80 games.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Braves All-Star starting pitcher Reinald Lopez was scheduled to start Wednesday’s game against Los Angeles, but was placed on the list injured with an inflammation in his right shoulder.
Elder Bryce will begin on Wednesday in Lopez’s place.
Lopez, 31, pitched five innings in his season debut last week, allowing nine hits and three runners to score, and hit one inning. Last year, in his first full season as a starter since 2020, the right-hander was excellent, earning a 1.99 ERA in 135.2 innings pitched in 148 strikeouts. He formed his first All-Star team and even finished 11th in the National League CY Young Poll.
Unfortunately for Atlanta, Lopez can miss a couple’s turn with spinning. The elder, who had a 6.52 ERA in 49.2 innings last year, hopes to get Atlanta’s season back on track.
The Braves dominate Chris Sale, the winner of the NL Cy Young Award, who won the mound against the against the right-handed lineup without Freddie Freeman on Tuesday night. If sales can’t lead them to victory, it will be the elders who will prevent Atlanta from opening the season 0-7.
For the , they are about to move to 7-0 on Tuesday night.
