Max Homa and his longtime caddy, childhood friend Joe Greiner, decided to split.

This week, when he tees Homa at the Valero Texas Open, he will instead bring veteran Caddy Bill Hark into his bag.

“Joe and I have created memories for a lifetime, but we can’t thank all the hard work,” Homa said in a statement Thursday to PGATOUR.com.

“We said goodbye. It would be sad to see him go. I’m always grateful to have walked the fairway with one of my best friends.”

Homa, 34, was a late-year-old PGA Tour star, earning six wins between 2019 and 2023. It was once ranked fifth in the world, so it came in third in the Master last year, but has been sluggish since then.

HOMA fell to 78th in the official world golf rankings, missing out on the fourth in a row. He’s not finished better this year than he placed 26th in any event.

The Texas Open is the final tournament before the Masters, the first major of the season.
